Radiators are heat exchangers function to transfer thermal energy from one medium to another for the purpose of cooling and heating. Radiators are used for cooling internal combustion engines, mainly automobiles but also in piston-engine aircraft, railway locomotives, motorcycles, stationary generating plants and other places where such engines are used.

The main function of radiator is to cool down the engine by cooling down the hot water coming out from the engine parts by using thermodynamics of heat transfer and supplied the cooled water and coolant back into engine to make sure that the engine runs at optimum temperature.
